Then he came to Ephesus… Apollos… and he began to speak boldly in the synagogue. But when Priscilla and Aquila heard him, they took him aside and explained to him the way of God more accurately. And when he wished to cross over to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him… and when he arrived, he greatly helped those who had believed through grace…
What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you believed… For who makes you different? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you received it, why do you boast as though you had not received it?
(Acts 18:24, 26–28; 1 Corinthians 3:5–6, 4:7 NASB)
Before my call to pastoral ministry, I was blessed to be shepherded by a wise man who took me aside and counseled me, explaining to me more accurately the way of God. As part of his counsel, this pastor introduced me—through his writings—to pastors and teachers from the past who had been helpful in his own pastoral ministry.
The help I have received from this modern-day Aquila, and the help I have received from others through their writings, has overflowed to the good of Christ’s sheep among whom I have served the Lord for more than a quarter of a century, as well as to the good of other local flocks of Christ that we have been able to assist.
Aquila Publications was born out of a pastoral burden to share these kinds of books with the many Spanish-speaking pastors and congregations who are unaware of such sources of biblical help.
Pastor Jeff Smith and brother Martin Ramírez have overseen this ministry with me. We are grateful for the substantial help we have received from members of other local churches.
May the Lord allow the content of books like these to be used by God as an Aquila or a Priscilla—someone who takes us aside and, in the private context of Bible study and meditation, explains to us more accurately the way of God, for the good of many, for the glory of God, and for the advancement of the kingdom of our beloved Lord Jesus Christ.

That each publication would be a tool used by the Holy Spirit to build up the saints, restore biblical knowledge, and lead many to a life transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We pray that through these writings, God would raise up churches and families where the Bible is honored as the only infallible rule of faith and practice, for the salvation of souls and the glory of our Triune God.
